E-commerce veterans launch a web design and development firm

Scott Robertson and Steve Thallman have launched Grand River, a web design and development company that specializes in e-commerce solutions for retailers and consumer brand manufacturers.

Grand River's services include e-commerce site evaluations and consultations, user experience and creative design, e-commerce platform design, web software development, and social networking application implementations.

"Our mission is to provide innovative and practical solutions that create a superior user experience and provide measurable results," Robertson says.

Previously, Robertson was business development director at Enlighten, an interactive marketing, web development, data analytics and consulting firm. He also served as manager of business development at e-commerce solutions provider Fry Inc. and was co-founder of 3source Technology, a web marketing firm.

Thallman formerly was enterprise accounts manager at VMware, a virtualization software company. He also served as global account manager at content management software company Interwoven Inc. and was director of sales at Internet security firm McAfee Inc.

Robertson is leading Grand River's strategy development, account management, product development and marketing efforts. Thallman oversees operational aspects of client services, including implementation, strategy and delivery. In previous positions they have created strategic programs and developed technology solutions for a variety of Fortune 500 companies, including Dell Inc., No. 4 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, and The Home Depot Inc., No. 42.
