Grand River, a leading e-commerce developer, today announced the launch of six new e-commerce sites with The Taunton Press. Taunton is a leading publisher of premium niche magazines, books, and media on a wide range of topics such as home building and design, woodworking, cooking, and gardening http://www.tauntonstore.com.

A Magento Enterprise Partner, Grand River designed and developed Taunton's new sites using Magento's Enterprise Edition 1.9. This leading open-source e-commerce platform delivers a scalable, cost effective, online retail solution with rich features, functionality, and flexibility.

"We launched the first site, for our corporate store, in time for the 2010 holiday season," said Michael Stoltz, director of e-commerce for Taunton Interactive. "It provides powerful, easy-to-use-tools with which we are reaching our merchandising and sales goals. Grand River used the same strong foundation to build five new sites for our other individual publishing brands. Each site offers that brand's core interest group a customized and unique experience."

The new brand sites are Fine Woodworking, Fine Homebuilding, Fine Cooking, Fine Gardening, and Threads. The look and feel, navigation, and integration remain unique to each brand but Magento's multi-site functionality provides one seamless interface through which the five multiple store sites are administered. The sites can be found here:

Functionality in Taunton's new online stores includes content management, search engine optimization, Google page view for publications, promotional marketing tools, order management, customer service, analytics and reporting.

"Our goal was to create new sites for Taunton that deliver a user experience equal to their outstanding reputation as the authority in home and garden publishing," said Scott Robertson, partner and co-founder of Grand River. "Feedback from the loyal enthusiasts who use and shop their sites is positive, sighting easy to use navigation, search and display of products."

In addition to the design and development of the new Taunton Press store and the launch of the five distinct brand sites, Grand River also provides web hosting and ongoing maintenance services for Taunton.
