Information Architecture & User Interface design
We like to think of information architecture as creating the blueprint for our designs. Before the site design starts to take shape, or the marketing message is defined, we need to understand who the customers are and layout how the site should be structured to meet the customers' needs.
Through data analysis, interviews, and discussions with our clients, we establish a clear understanding of customer contexts and tasks. This understanding guides our process as we create an organization for the site's navigation, labeling and content which addresses each of the defined personas.
While going through the interface design process there are a number of steps and deliverables that a client may expect. Those often include user personas and scenarios, site flows and navigation maps, page hierarchy and structure, in the form of a wireframe, which is all followed by a detailed user interface specification.
No site solution is ever the same. But there are key design best practices and solutions that we know make sense from a customer and business perspective. These are principals that we have learned over the last 15 years and that we stand behind and strive to improve upon with each new engagement.
